Homeschool Planning App

Blog: Our Good Life

Many people think that because we homeschool that means we are HOME all the time, which for us is just not the case. Both Ken and I like to travel and see new places, and once we had kids we made the decision to bring them along for the ride. One of the many benefits of homeschooling for us is that we are free to take a quick trip to Lake George NY or a three week trip to Disney World and we don’t have to worry about missing school lessons. But I still need to have a plan……

Flexible Homeschool Planning App

Blog: Amy's Wandering

When I was working on curriculum plans this summer, I spent half a day searching for a better way to organize my online resources. I gather lots of fun links throughout the year, which I organize in LiveBinder, but I wanted some way to easily access my plans without having to be tethered to my computer.

Who Needs A Flexible Homeschool Schedule? {Me!}

Blog: Homeschool Hideout

As a homeschool mom, there are very few things I take for granted when it comes to homeschooling my kids. I know I’m blessed that we can afford to homeschool. We have a home that allows me to hoard books and curriculum as I desire. My family supports our decision and often joins us in our learning adventures.

App That Helps Track Homeschool State Requirements

Blog: Raising Da Vinci

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you probably know I’m a proud Yooper! Meaning, I live in the U.P. Still don’t know what that means? It’s ok, most people don’t. I live in the best little secret of the US — Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, or, the U.P. for short.

Now, in my great state we are not required to show or prove our homeschool. That’s not true everywhere, though. There are several states that require proof. In fact, my good friend and co-host of our podcast Homeschooling in the North Woods (didn’t know I have a podcast? Check it out!) lives in a providence of Canada that requires her to show/prove her homeschool year. HOW STRESSFUL! Or at least I think it would be!

How homeschool planning with an app can work!

Blog: Christian Homeschool Blogs

Every year I feel the burn of creating and keeping up with our scheduling. I don’t like schedules, I prefer routine. Yet I need something consistent that I can take on the go, and I likely won’t take my homeschool planners with me to the homeschool co-op or park day. I like to be on top of things, to know what’s happening in our homeschool each week and to keep track of those “schedules’ without feeling boxed-in to a schedule!

How to Create a Flexible Homeschool Schedule

Blog: Look We're Learning

I’ve been known to overschedule my homeschool lesson plans just a tad. Okay, maybe more than a tad. More like a WHOLE LOT. Like so many homeschooling parents, I start the planning season with a huge amount of enthusiasm and excitement. We’ll study all the great civilizations of history! We’ll read every classic children’s book ever written! We’ll visit every museum in the United States! Naturally, I’m running on fumes by October. By January, our homeschool year is practically dead in the water.
